Leopard Man

Did you ever wanted to be a during your life at all? I read an article, The Sociology of Leopard Man, by Logan Feys. The genre is non-fiction I believe. “Society looks down upon freakish and extraordinary individuals alike and views them with suspicion”. I think Feys is trying to make extraordinary people feel like no one likes them and you are only doing this for attention.

I disagree with the author because society doesn’t tell you what wear, get tattoos, or even how to act in public. The author’s argument was, “ Society tends to discourage people from expressing their unique ideas and behaving in ways that are different from their peers”.

Logan Feys blames people and society for the extraordinary people how they act, dress, and look. “ Society looks down upon freakish and extraordinary people”. He also said,” Ordinary people fear what they don’t understand”. He is trying to say that we, the society, are making people be different and not acting normal.

Another example is he thinks Conformity is the world’s most common disorder. I think Feys just hates how people are acting different and not trying to fit in with the others. I also strongly believe is trying to bring down the extraordinary people, putting them on blast, and just making stupid reasons about being different.

My thesis was Feys is trying to make extraordinary people feel like no one likes them, no one cares about them, and is just trying to get attention for them. My advice to you is you should be like leopard man time to time not all the time. You should go out and have fun during the weekends.

Favorite Mistake

My favorite mistake was going ding-dong ditching with my sister and my cousins. It was my sister’s birthday party and we all decided to go toilet papering, but we didn’t have toilet paper at all. So we all decided to go ding-dong ditching are neighbors house because we were pretty messed up.

We started walking down the street and my sister said,” lets do these houses because it’s close to my house and we won’t have to run far”. After she said that we responded,” yea but hurry up, it’s cold outside”. We all banged on the door and ran to my house, but my sister shut the door on me and locked the door too. The neighbor came out, saw me sitting on the curb and decided to blame me.

He yelled,” I’m going to call the cops on you!” the cops came and called are parents. Dad came home and said,” say sorry to them and the officers”. We told them sorry and it won’t happen again I promise. For me and my sister’s punishment we had to wash my parent’s cars and clean the house.

The next day my parents just laughed at us and told us,” don’t get caught next time “. Ever since then my sister and I haven’t got caught, knock on wood. My advice to you is to be smart and don’t do anything stupid because we got lucky that time. Who knows what would happen next time if it involves with the police.

Rooftop

In the book Rooftop by Paul Volponi he wanted to teach kids to stay away from drugs, don't fall into the wrong crowd, and stay out of trouble. Clay was in a rehab facility for drugs and trying to get his GED and do something with his life. Clay's cousin, Addison, comes to program because of his drugs. Addison does more crazy drugs, hangs out with more gangs, and kills people. They both grew up in the projects and their family was ripped apart over a stupid argument about Clay and Addison doing drugs. They go on the rooftop with one of their friends and stuff goes down, the cops come and finds them doing drugs, one of them shoots Addison for no reason, and arrests Clay and not the friend. Clay finds out his "friend" snitched on them about the drugs, the cop goes to trial for shooting Addison for no reason. He is guilty and is sentenced to 20 years and Clay goes and jumps his ex friend. Clay goes to the funeral and finally the family is back together.

The Monkey's Paw

If I had three wishes i would wish for: a new phone, a BMW, and no school. I want a new phone because my broke because of my friend and it was getting old anyway. I wished for a BMW because I'm getting my permit:) I want to drive already and my uncle is buying me a car. I want no school because I hate Homework a lot and I also hate teachers, but all the other stuff is fine to me.

I am not superstitious about a new phone or a BMW because its awesome and sexy. I am superstitious of no school because without school all of us would be retarded and we wouldn't mark smart choices at all. I want school, but then i don't at all because i am lazy.

Antigone Compare/Contrast

In Antigone, by Sephocles, Antigone wants to give her brother a proper burial. Creon doesn't want to give him a proper burial because he started a war against their own state. Antigone and Creon hate each other even though Antigone was going to marry Creon's son, but then she killed herself.

Although Creon and Antigone have some similar characteristics, they still have different ways of showing loyalty. Antigone said" He is my brother and he is your brother" (prologue,34). It means she still loves and cares for her brother because she is breaking the law just to give him a proper burial. Ismene doesn't love her brother because you could tell by what she says and how she acts when they talk about him. In scene 2 Antigone tells Ismene that the gods and the dead man know who did it and who didn't do it. She doesn't make up excuses and she will take the blame like a man should too. She loves her family a lot, but Ismene doesn't. Creon says" You will give no support to whoever breaks the law" (1,59). He means his rules are more important than anything else and they should listen to what says. In scene 2 Creon said take these girls away because they are both going crazy and retarded. He is not loyalty to his family because he thinks they are after him.

Although Antigone and Creon have some similar characteristics, they still have different ways of showing pride. Antigone says" That must be your excuse, i suppose. As for me, I will bury the brother I love" (prologue,70). It means she is proud to be his ister and to have a brother like him. She doesn't care what people thinks think, and she is proud to be related to him. In scene prologue Antigone tells Ismene to tell everyone what she is going to do. Antigone knows that no one will be mad or sad at her, and she also knows that they will honor her instead. Creon said" I am not aware of that I have never failed to listen" (5,5). He means that he pays attention and he never fails at all. In scene 5 Creon says no one will change my mind about what he is going to do to Antigone. He means he is unstoppable and no one can't stop him.

I'm not going to lie, but Antigone should get some blame for her own death. She went a little to far about her giving a proper burial to her brother, but i respect that because it's your family. Creon should get most of the blame because everyone should get a proper burial, but he thinks his laws are more important than the god's laws. He also doesn't care about his family because he put his niece in stone fault and didn't give his nephew a proper burial.
